Global Trade and Supply Chain


Trade and Supply Chain (TSC) is a core business for the HSBC Group contributing revenues of over USD one billion. Global TSC is the Group functional management unit responsible for delivering the financial results for Trade, including the Structured Trade Finance and Supply Chain businesses. TSC provides a solution set for Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking customers ranging from those requiring the more traditional suite of trade related banking products to those with global supply chains and complex needs. Global TSC develops and implements Global Trade strategy; drives Trade sales, business development and marketing initiatives; develops innovative and proactive trade products; and ensures the overall operational integrity of the business.


The Global Programme Management Office (PMO) for TSC is located in Hong Kong and Canada with Regional PMOs in Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East. We are seeking the executives for the Hong Kong office.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Senior Manager - Global TSC PMO, the job-holder will work closely with colleagues in other regions to formulate, execute and drive TSC strategic imperatives and product development with TSC Product team globally. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate with Group IT teams for the TSC Re-architecture programme and the timely delivery of Project Building Blocks of the target architecture
  • Lead and effectively manage specific programmes in the annual technology plan for Global TSC products and services
  • Manage the technology expenses and ensure the financial data are correctly accounted for and reported for all regions globally
  • Review, coordinate and execute strategies, and cross-functional initiatives for the global business
  • Support the Product Management teams and contribute to the development of products and programmes to increase revenue, improve cost/income ratio and increase market share
  • Implement the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Methodology across Regional TSC PMOs

Requirements

  • A degree holder with at least 10 years' financial services experience.
  • Commercial focus with strong business background in Global Transaction Banking and proven product management experience
  • Knowledge of general banking system infrastructure and technology would be beneficial
  • Experience in business processes review/Re-architecture/imaging/work-flow, e.g. Six Sigma
  • Proven experience in managing in a matrix management structure
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
