HSBC's Financial and Business Reporting Team supports the profit growth of Commercial Banking (CMB) by optimising the use of resources, ensuring appropriate management and financial controls among CMB departments, identifying key drivers of allocated costs and reviewing business cases. It supports and strengthens CMB's business planning and performance tracking capabilities through driving and enhancing ongoing business analysis, providing high quality management information (MI), perfecting performance tracking mechanisms, supporting the formulation of strategic / operating plans and recommending business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Manager Regional Business Analysis and Planning, the job holder will:

• Conduct financial analysis for Asia-Pacific (ASP) countries and provide comments for Management's review through analysis of financial performance, MI and strategic/operating plan
• Contribute to the costs management across ASP CMB by reviewing the underlying costs allocation methodology and reviewing charges reports
• Drive and enhance performance tracking for ASP CMB through reviewing and improving MI to facilitate consistent reporting
• Liaise with IT to enhance the new reporting format and ensure the smooth implementation of MI system in ASP countries
• Support the technology plan process for ASP countries
• Provide support for regional initiatives and best practice sharing to increase revenue and reduce costs

Requirements

• University graduate with a degree in business, finance or related discipline
• At least five years' experience in general banking experience with a solid background in financial analysis and reporting
• Regional work experience or knowledge in local market conditions and economic environment is preferred
• Strong analytical and numerical ability with good attention to details
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient database management ability in using Microsoft Excel, Access; IBIS knowledge is an advantage
