HSBC's Commercial Banking (CMB) has seen tremendous growth in business globally, regionally and locally over the past few years. A new Global Small Business Strategy has also been recently approved and it is necessary to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth in the Small Business segment through a comprehensive range of products and services.

The Small-Middle Enterprise (SME) Lending team within the Products and Propositions team in Asia-Pacific (ASP) Strategy, Propositions and Channels is responsible for developing customer-driven lending strategy to enhance customer value and maximise business growth. Lending products constitute our core products contributing to a growing share of the operating income and are a key tool to help acquire new customers. To take our business to a new height and expand within ASP, we are now seeking a seasoned individual to establish SME Lending propositions in Hong Kong (HK) and the ASP Region.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Senior Manager Products, you will be expected to manage a highly dynamic and specialised team to develop and implement SME lending strategy in HK and selected countries within ASP. Your specific responsibilities include:

• Guide the development of credit scoring mechanism and score-based business strategy in HK and selected countries within ASP
• Direct the development of a criteria-based model to underwrite General Banking Facilities in HK and drive a similar strategy in selected countries within ASP
• Lead product development and management on major lending products and drive the relevant process re-engineering exercise to enhance customer experience
• Support and facilitate other countries within ASP to develop the above propositions by adopting best practices in the region with local customization where necessary
• Develop portfolio monitoring systems along with the credit risk management teams

Requirements

• University graduate with at least 13 years of financial services experience including lending and/or credit scoring, product development and portfolio management
• Previous exposure to strategic planning and project management is preferred
• Broad understanding of CMB products, market dynamics and commercial trends
• Able to propose and monitor revision of the business model by confronting conventional values
• Experience in ASP countries is preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
• Experience in leading a team of experienced and specialized individuals
• Good command of spoken and written English
