Business Analysis and Transformation


The Business Analysis and Transformation Department (BTF) within Asia-Pacific Commercial Banking (ASP CMB) is responsible for improving CMB's business reporting, operational efficiency, IT support management, project management activity, and providing a coordinated interface with other business units within the Group.


ASP CMB is a diverse franchise, at differing stages of development and with very varied regulatory and economic environments. As our CMB business grows and matures we require a greater level of performance analysis to be undertaken, in order that we allocate appropriate investment and focus.


The team is increasing and we invite applications from an experienced individual to manage the investor relations, media and competitor review responsibilities of the team.

Key Responsibilities

The role will report to Senior Manager Business Analysis and Reporting, and will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop presentations and messaging covering ASP CMB sites, Product Groups and business issues to outline business performance and objectives. Presentations will be delivered by senior HSBC executive to colleagues, stakeholders, investors and analysts
  • Invent and continue a robust process of competitor review across HSBC peer group banks and the major local banks operating in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific
  • Work with existing BTF colleagues and other parts of the bank to prepare analyses including business performance analysis, preparing reports and best practice sharing including performance summaries, and operating plan review

Requirements

  • University graduate, preferably with a degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
  • At least 5 to 10 years' commercial banking experience, of which it is preferred that part of this experience has been in regionally focused roles
  • Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines, pressing issues and demanding logistics
  • Able to work independently, accurately and reliably under pressure
  • Good leadership and relationship skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Computer skills in Powerpoint, Lotus Notes, Word, and Excel
