Commercial Banking


Our Commercial Banking division (CMB) is at the very core of HSBC, which houses an unsurpassed portfolio of commercial and corporate customers. Coupled with its extensive network of commercial banking customers, CMB has been expanding its insurance services capability to its commercial banking customers. We now invite applications for the position of Insurance Officer within the agency team, to assist in the sales of commercial insurance products to CMB customers, and to provide sales related support services to the Insurance team and their customers.


Key Responsibilities


Reporting to Senior Insurance Sales Manager/Insurance Sales Manager, the job holder's main responsibilities include:

  • Assist the insurance team to develop and maintain insurance business relationships
  • Evaluate and fulfil sales of simple protection solutions according to assigned underwriting limits for respective insurance products
  • Provide dedicated support to the sales activities of Senior Insurance Sales Managers/Insurance Sales Managers in the process of delivering insurance solutions to commercial banking customers
  • Follow up declarations, claims documentations and other fulfilment processes
  • Prepare necessary documentations for meetings, quotations, confirmations and policy issuance matters
  • Prepare and consolidate data for providing management information to senior management
  • Assist in other general clerical duties where necessary

Requirements

  • Form 7 or above with at least five years' working experience or a university degree holder with less experience
  • Previous banking experience or knowledge/sales experience in insurance is preferred
  • Have passed in Insurance Intermediaries Quality Assurance Examination (IIQE) - Principles and Practice of Insurance paper and General Insurance Paper
  • Able to work independently to handle sales and customer enquiries/complaints
  • Outgoing with strong interpersonal skills and customer servicing skills
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua is an advantage
  • Good PC skills
