Trade and Supply Chin Asia-Pacific


Trade and Supply Chain is a core business for the HSBC Group. Approximately 60% of our revenue is attributable to Asia-Pacific, and the Bank is recognized as a leading trade bank globally. With our increased focus on sales origination, we have created an Asia-Pacific Regional Sales Team in addition to various in-country sales teams. The Regional Sales Team is a combination of our existing Structured Trade Finance and Supply Chain business, and its coverage will be Corporate Banking and top-end Commercial clients who have needs for efficient financial supply chain and balance sheet management. Our mandate is to win business by delivering combined structured trade finance and transactional supply chain solutions, and an opportunity has arisen for an experienced financial service professional to join us.

Key Responsibilities


Reporting to the Head of Sales, Trade and Supply Chain Asia Pacific, you will play a key role in achieving our vision of becoming "The best sales organization characterised by Performance, Professionalism and Profile". You will also be expected to generate new, significant income streams as well as retain existing businesses. Specifically, you will:

  • Plan, direct and execute all business development activities relating to the industry coverage
  • Define industry's specialisation for the accountability of defined sectors, e.g. Consumer Brands & Retail, Diversified Industrials Group, Resources & Energy Group
  • Sell effectively in a complex cross-geographical and multi-layer client environment
  • Originate and execute new opportunities across Asia-Pacific
  • Structure solutions to ensure that they meet customers' needs as well as adhere to the regulatory framework and Group credit policy
  • Assess all the risks linked to a transaction, and negotiate mitigants acceptable to the counterpart
  • Obtain credit approvals and ensure they are compliance with Group standards
  • Write effective proposals which clearly articulate the benefits of our solutions
  • Present/pitch end-to-end combined structured trade finance and transactional supply chain solutions

Requirements

  • University degree holder with at least 10 years' financial services experience
  • Strong credit and risk management skills
  • Expert trade finance and export finance knowledge
  • Sound experience in managing cross-functional and cross-geographical teams
  • Able to creatively structure complex transactions and formulate innovative solutions
  • Solid experience in consultative complex selling
  • Strong business development skills and influencing skills
  • Fluent written and spoken communication and presentation skills in English
