Our Commercial Banking division (CMB) houses an unsurpassed portfolio of commercial and corporate customers and is at the very core of HSBC. To drive growth and profitability, the division has been expanding its insurance services capabilities for its commercial banking customers. We now invite applications for the position of Insurance Sales Manager - General Insurance within the agency team to maximise the sales of general insurance solutions to SME customers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work closely with CMB Relationship Managers to agree on prospects and target customers with due regard to customer business activities and the range of insurance solutions available
  • Explore new sources of business and negotiate the retention and development of the existing portfolio in line with agreed business objectives
  • Actively promote insurance solutions offered by HSBC Insurance as well as spot opportunities to refer appropriate business to the CMB broking team
  • Negotiate with insurers on behalf of clients
  • Enhance service levels by resolving customer complaints and responsively acting on special requests to secure customers' satisfaction
  • Review business development progress and take appropriate actions to achieve insurance business targets
  • Assist the Senior Insurance Sales Manager on the planning of sales, contact activity and fulfilment processes
  • Conduct sales activities within the compliance and regulatory boundaries of insurance agency

Requirements

  • A degree holder with at least five years' experience in the insurance business and three years' experience in selling insurance products
  • Previous sales working experience in a reputable insurance broking firm is an advantage
  • Appropriate professional insurance qualifications (ACII or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive technical and product knowledge of general insurance
  • Good understanding of the insurance requirements of customers from different industries
  • Knowledge and experience in cross-selling life business is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and sales skills
  • Good PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua is a significant advantage
