HSBC STUDENT PROGRAMMES
At HSBC, we constantly seek the brightest talent that have a
passion for banking so that we can help them develop professionally and, eventually, join us to become our future colleagues and leaders. To this end, we have developed our tailor-made Placement/ Internship and Co-op Programmes.
Placement/Internship Programme
Our Student Placement/Internship Programmes are designed to offer ambitious university students the opportunity to gain invaluable first-hand exposure to a truly international organisation. The Student Placement Programme will challenge you with development projects in plethora of business areas. On the other hand our eight-week Student Internship Programme will allow you to experience the real work setting as well as learn from distinguished mentors in either Commercial Banking or Credit Risk Management, ensuring that you gain a more well-rounded experience of our operations. These programmes will offer you a chance to explore the machinations of a global banking juggernaut while also providing you with the requisite knowledge and expertise to pursue a career in the field after graduation.
If you would like to apply to join the programmes, you will ideally be in your penultimate year of study and on course for a degree with a second-class honours or above. Possessing excellent analytical, numerical, communication and interpersonal skills as well as an enthusiasm for the banking industry, you should also be able to communicate effectively in English, Cantonese and preferably Mandarin.

Summer Placement/ Internship starts from June to September and we will start welcoming applications in February with a deadline in March. Co-op Programme
Co-op Programme is an 8 or 12 month programme for students who would like to gain real work experience with HSBC before their graduation, and/or to fulfil part of their academic requirements as Co-op Students.
To apply, you should have permanent residency status in Hong Kong and retain a student status after you have completed the Co-op Programme. There will be regular postings of Placement opportunities at universities. Please check with the Career Centre at your school for details and positions available.
